'The Cottage' Respite Programs promote independence, social stimulus, support and guidance for carers, frail aged and persons with dementia both in the Cottage and in the community.
Challenging Behaviours Program Assists carers of people who have a challenging behaviour due to dementia and as a consequence are finding it difficult to access respite or to participate in mainstream community activities. We work with carers to develop strategies to assist in managing behaviours at home
Care 4 You Holidays A unique and innovative program offering holidays during the year in a resort setting in the Far North Coast region. It is an opportunity for the carer and person they care for (who has dementia) to take a holiday together where there is 24 hour care. This holiday provides a nurturing, supportive escape with ideas and strategies conveyed to the carer to help them maintain their caring role.
Local Support Coordination Provides personalised support for carers and frail aged persons to access support services and develop support networks that will assist the person being cared for to remain living in the community.
Social Support Provides support in small, informal and neighbourly ways to assist people who are frail aged and people with disabilities to remain living at home in their community.
Aged Brokerage Provides trained staff to support clients in home, in the community and centre based at any time 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Agencies external to TVRS purchase these services on behalf of their clients. Services can also be purchased privately
FROC Flexible Respite Options Consortium provides funding for four Months planned respite for carers of people who are frail aged and people with disabilities across the Far North Coast of NSW.
Working Carers The Working Carers Program provides respite to employed carers of frail aged persons and those with a dementia or related disorder. Respite can be provided in alignment with working hours. This also includes shift work. Carers must be employed, have definite (substantiated) plans to return to work or they must be in related study and respite is therefore needed.
