The Cottage Respite Program

Day Care services offers people who are frail aged and people with dementia or a related disorder the opportunity to participate in group activities. These activities are either community based or centre-based and are designed to develop, maintain or support the capacity for independent living and social interaction.

What Programs are offered through Day Care Services?

Who is Eligible

These programs have been specifically designed for the frail aged and people with dementia or a related disorder. Someone who is classified as frail aged is a person who when placed under increased stress will have poorer outcomes physically and psychologically than a person who isn't frail aged.

Carers of a frail aged person or person with a dementia or related disorder are also eligible to attend the Carer Support Group and participate in the Life Connections Program.

Access to Service

People wishing to attend Day Service Programs can be referred by other organizations or can contact Tweed Valley Respite Service directly. The Team Leader will then complete an in-home assessment and recommend an appropriate day service program.

Hours of Service

Day Care Services operate Monday to Saturday, 50 weeks of the year.
