Population served: General service for school leavers with a disability moving into adult and community life
Number of vacancies available: Capacity for 35 vacancies over the next three years with activities conducted at our South Tweed Centre and in community venues across the Shire. Transport provided when the person cannot access public or private transport.

Monday to Friday - 8.30 to 4.00pm office hours
Monday to Saturday - regular weekday programs including some evening and Saturday activities
What this Program offers:
The TVRS Community Participation Program (centre based model) offers a guaranteed minimum of 21 hours of service each week for 50 weeks a year. The Centre based model offers both individualised hours and group programs and includes the choice of group transport, within those 21 hours, to and from home. Staff to participation ratios are low allowing for a person-centred focus and taking into account personal care needs, preferences and background. TVRS has many years experience in working with young people with mild, moderate, high and exceptionally high needs.
A dynamic mix of activities is offered to suit the young person's preferences, potential and abilities including:
- A program of choice planned in consultation with the young person, his or her family and our service.
- One to one program hours with a specialist staff member to pursue personal goals individually
- Access to a wide range of group programs including community projects, Fitness, Art, Mixed Media, Cooking, Performance projects, supported volunteering and work experience placements; various sports; computer courses, participation in community festivals and events; social and recreational activities in the community including access to evening and weekend programs

What this Program offers:
The Tweed Individual Community Based Program offers an individually designed program to suit the young person's aspirations and support needs at a guaranteed minimum of 18 hours of service each week for 48 weeks a year with the choice of group transport hours to and from home included.
Staff to participation ratios are low allowing for a person-centred focus taking into account personal care needs, preferences and background. TVRS has many years experience in working with young people with mild, moderate, high and exceptionally high needs.
The Individual Community Based Program is person centred. The young person's program is designed in consultation with the person, his or her family and specialist staff at TVRS to provide as many opportunities as possible for accessing and participating in mainstream community life. These include the areas of educational development, community participation, social and recreational opportunities, health and wellbeing, independent living and personal development.
Programs could include community and volunteering placements, work experience, mainstream social and recreational activities, access to adult educational group programs and group programs conducted by TVRS and more depending on the young persons aspirations and needs.
